On the surface, it may seem that how far people can go together depends on the depth of their feelings, but in reality, it doesn’t. Instead, it’s related to the alignment of values and the degree to which their values match. It also depends on whether they can continually meet each other's needs. Only those who share most of their values can interact and work together harmoniously. Eventually, those with different values will go their separate ways. But just having aligned values isn’t enough; both parties need to provide value to each other. In the adult world, high-quality relationships are mostly filtered and formed through value and money. You either have money or you have value, because only when you are useful to each other will people be willing to invest time and energy into maintaining that relationship.
