Hello Americans.

I'm Italian, and as a kid I used to watch US shows like NCIS and CSI after lunch, since they are quite popular in Italy, so they get broadcast pretty often. I noticed that some scenes are cut out, and I was explained that this is due to the Italian "fascia protetta" (literally "protected time period"), meaning that at certain times during the day (like 8:00 to 21:00) there can be no violence shown in any shows on TV.

Now I'm curious to know how your TV stations approach this issue. Do they just show the violent scenes at any time of day? Do they censor them during the day like we do? Or do they simply postpone these shows outside of the protected time period (if you have one)?
