My husband and I are house hunting at the moment and trying to be really open to different styles of house, so nothing gets filtered in our search for 'The one'.
Am I alone in just not understanding why anyone would want a new build?

Aside from the horrendous snagging videos that are all over the internet, the space is just impractical. We have looked at the high and low ends of our budget and all you ever get in a build is a Lounge and kitchen/ diner. Two rooms. That's it.

More expensive houses might treat you to a utility and a downstairs loo, but essentially you just get a slightly bigger lounge and kitchen/diner.

We currently live in a very cheap 60s build and we have three reception rooms and a kitchen/ diner. Many old houses we look at have interesting layouts and rooms we can earmark for playroom, study etc.

Is this a way of life that people enjoy? What about having some space to do different things in different rooms? Two bed terraces have a front room, back room and then a kitchen, so it's not about having a big house, it's having good use of space. Are interior walls just too expensive to build?

Anyway, it's probably just me!
