How to make sex more enjoyable?

Hey everyone, I’m dating this guy and he’s the first person I’ve had sex with… kinda. I say kinda because when we did have sex, I don’t think he was all the way inside of me due to penetration being so uncomfortable 🙁 I understand sex doesn’t feel the best the first couple of times but any advice on how to make this process easier and more comfortable?
