I give up on trying to meet people and make friends

I (22M) am done. I can't make any friends after I meet people. I've done more social stuff, like going to concerts, sport events, gaming conventions and other meetups, but nothing gets past the small talk stage or one-and-done stages. I'm not trying to push anything or make anyone feel awkward, but no one is interested in meeting new people and making friends. Maybe I missed the boat when I was a teenager in high school. Sucks for me.
