Hello everyone,
So I (24M) moved to a new town (Southern Louisiana, USA) for work a little over a year ago. I have made no friends outside of my coworkers since then, and it is really starting to take a toll on me.
The town I am in has very little opportunities that I would be interested in, at least as far as I can tell checking local facebook groups. Everything I can find is some variant of "live music at a bar."
With that in mind, what do you do at a bar? I don't drink and I have pretty bad social anxiety, so I'm not going to be approaching random people to talk to them. But I also don't wanna just sit at home again.
I have brought a book to read before, and that sparked two conversations (that I blew by not knowing what to say. One conversation started as I was actively walking out the door, so I had already resigned myself to the night being a failure). Last time I tried that, I just sat there and no one talked to me for about half an hour, so I just left.
Any advice?
