I’ve been with my boyfriend for about 3.5 years now, and while the first 2-ish years has been a bit unstable, the last 9 months has been very stable. We both are much more mentally mature and can talk about our differences and conflicts now.

We live separately, but stays over at each others often. Last night he got back to mine after a wedding, very drunk. He starts drunk talking telling me he’s been a good boy coz he didn’t party etc, and I said “I love you” and he just ignore me. So I thought he was just drunk.

This morning when we woke up, he was annoying me again (in a playful way(, and I said to him I said I love you last night and you ignored me, and he ignores me again… so I asked him what’s in your mind, and he says I don’t know… he says he’s just not there yet. But he says we are in a committed relationship and he doesn’t give less.

So, this puzzles me… what may stop a man to say I love you to his partner?

Thanks.

Ps. He saw me type this post and told me to show him the answers too, he curious also…
