He has never asked me questions besides these five:
How are you feeling?
What would you like to eat?
Where would you like to go?
What would you like to do?
What would you like to watch?
He doesn’t ask about my hobbies, my family, my friends..and when we’re talking the focus of the conversation is either neutral or entirely on him. I will occasionally offer a statement about myself relating to the topic of the conversation such as ‘I had a major surgery a few years ago so I can relate’ but he never ever takes that statement and uses it to learn more about me such as by saying ‘you had major surgery?? What was that for if you don’t mind me asking?’ There could be an entire conversation that could take place where he would learn a lot more about me if he just asked. But instead he doesn’t acknowledge what I say and instead redirects the focus back in him. Every time.
I am from overseas with a different upbringing and education system and culture and food..he seriously could learn so much about me and my country but there’s just no interest at all? I don’t get it.
When he speaks about a hobby for example, I always ask questions to further my understanding and to show a genuine interest so it’s not like he’s trying to get back at me in that regard.
I would like to ask him about this but he is pretty sensitive so it will likely backfire and ruin the day
