Local police and fire would use real wrecked cars to stage a fake crash scene outside the school, several students would be selected to be "dead" and be pulled from class for the day, and at the end of the day there would be speeches from mothers who lost their kids to drunk driving, and in my case also from a guy who had just gotten out of prison for vehicular manslaughter.
