Asking for a friend. Okay, I’m kidding, but this scenario seems common enough, I think.

A boy and girl are close friends.

At one point, they go on a few dates. The girl isn’t really feeling it then, so she says she’d rather they stay friends.

Boy still has feelings for this girl, but he never brings the matter up again out of respect for their friendship. Some time passes, and with more time spent together, the girl starts to feel that things could work out with him.

In this scenario, is it on the girl to ask the boy out and express her change in feelings, or is it on the boy to periodically try to charm her again if the mood feels right?

Just trying to scout out the general consensus here.
