My wife and I both live very far away from our families. She wants to fly out in two weeks to go see her grandma. At first I was down to go with her because I was thinking we’d fly Friday, see her grandma on Saturday, and fly back Sunday. Simple. But now it’s growing into a larger thing seeing her siblings and to be honest I don’t really want to go at all. Plane tickets are getting more and more expensive and I can’t justify paying 400+ for a plane ticket for myself just to make my wife happy where I know I’ll be stressed out and away from home.
What is my obligation as a good husband here? I want her to go see her family. Can I just tell her she can go without me? Is that okay?
