I (41f) have been trying, to no avail, to find out what it is that is going on with my muscles “down there”. For years, I have suffered with a “loose vagina” – before anyone comes after me, I know that it expands when I’m turned on, changes through my cycle etc. but this seems related to something else. Inside, it is small front to back (which feels good during sex), but wide side to side. These wide sides, when I press against them, feel like there is CRAZY tight muscles, like guitar strings that have been wound to the max. It occurred to me that maybe these are pulling me wide somehow.

So I think my problem could be a tight pelvic floor – I have always had shallow breathing, and REALLY over exercised my ab muscles in the past, worked an office job sitting for a long time, as well as suffering from a food allergy and chronic coughing from recurring chest infections in my twenties.

MY QUESTION: Is it possible that tight muscles somewhere in my pelvic floor could pull the sides of my vagina wider than it used to be? I notice it gets worse (weaker muscles, and wider) if I do kegels or “wining” dance moves, shallow breath or eat the food I’m allergic to. It has gotten better when I avoid these things, but still not 100% and I want to tackle the root cause and become tighter again so that me and my partner can enjoy sex more (he hasn’t said anything but I think he could enjoy it more). What can I do? here are no specialists where I live but I am willing to travel after becoming more informed.
