I legit don’t know how to ask this without coming off as rude almost? But like what do y’all talk about?
All of my 20 colleagues are middle aged and elderly, I’m the youngest person “ever” in this companies job. (19)
We were planning a social hangout and they changed the bar to a cafe just for me cause I’m underaged.
They’re all super nice but I feel this kind of disconnect when trying to form actual friendships. It’s a very social atmosphere and so I’m just trying to figure out the “small talk” and the event “mixing and mingling”

I have no anxiety or issue socializing with peers, but I never realized I have this problem with other generations, cause like nobody cares about “Kendrick and drake” “the brat summer” and stuff.

Everyone tends to talk about their vacations and cool life experiences, and it’s awesome cause they all seem to have cool stories, but I can’t relate cause I’ve only been alive 19 years lol.

It was really funny when I mentioned a birdwatching class and the entire elevator went silent, I had the full undivided attention of like 8 people. I might look into birdwatching cause that seems to be a liked hobby among this group?

anyways, does anyone have conversation topics or hobbies?
Or just tips, cause I don’t know how they see me as a young person. Like if your middle aged and up, what would make you enjoy a young persons company?(as an equal colleague not like a grandchild)
