What’s something you’ve heard your partner whisper to you, thinking you were sound asleep but you weren’t?

1. My partner talks in his sleep, and says the weirdest, most nonsensical shit lol. It’s not quite answering your question… but is it ok if it’s adjacent? Lol.

   The funniest thing he said most recently was “don’t worry… my butt…can I … dumb” literally just a string of not connected things and I have no clue what he was dreaming about Lmao.

3. do you guys ever watch those scenes in movies where one person is sleeping and the other does a cute action such as tucking them in bed, holding their hand, kisses their cheek and says “i love you” etc. yeah i’m basically a sucker for these and waiting to experience this myself!!!

4. “I love you”

   “Wait, what? Are you awake? That is not a sentence?” Usually in response to some slurred out half asleep words I was trying to remember and stay awake to tell him.

5. Sugarwaffles just occasionally slings an arm over my waist, squeezes, and whispers “mine.”

6. I had one partner that would move my hair from my face, call me a weirdo then kiss my forehead. I thought it was sweet, so I never said anything.

8. There was one time I was in the hospital because of meningitis, I wasn’t in a coma but I may as well have been for a few days there. It was very bad. And I’m honestly not sure if he thought I could hear him or not, but the “I love you” “stay with me” “you’re beautiful”s were pretty constant whenever he was there to say them.

   The whole ordeal was a pivotal point in our relationship, not that it wasn’t good before but some things just really change your outlook. We are married now.

9. The first time he said “I love you”, he said it to me when he thought I was asleep. He was caressing my face which woke me up but I didn’t stir or anything because I was enjoying the softness of that gesture and then he whispered it and I had to remind myself to breathe normally and pretend sleep. I didn’t bring it up because I wanted him to say it out loud when he felt fully ready to say it. I sobbed like a baby when he finally did lol

10. I was in a very long relationship and never once thought to pretend sleep to see if he said anything. But I’m also an insomniac so might have seemed suspect. Definitely going to try that move in the future haha

11. “You stink,” when I farted.

12. We were cuddling in bed and I had fallen half asleep while watching TV. I think he had a drink too much that evening and whispered “I love you so much” over and over again, it was adorable.
