Hello! I used to live in California and New York, but after spending several years working overseas, I returned to the U.S. a few months ago and am now working in the Kansas.

While living here, I've noticed a few things. When I lived in California and New York, people would engage in a lot of small talk, seemed more relaxed, and were generally quite friendly. In those places, when you made eye contact, it was common for people to smile a little. But here, in Kansas, when I smile at someone, they often just look at me like it’s strange. People here don’t really make small talk, seem a bit less easygoing, and feel a bit less friendly. (People also drive much more aggressively here.)

Am I the only one who feels this way? Even when I sneeze, no one says “bless you”…
