I just replied on a post asking about whether a senator was gay, with the complaint that he doesn’t disclose one way or the other. He’s not married, as far as I can tell he’s just private.
He served in the military for 40+ years so I can see why, however I don’t believe it’s anyone’s business to guess someone’s sexuality.

There seemed to be some expectation of entitlement to that knowledge. I was also surprised that there doesn’t seem to be any federal protection for gay people from discrimination.

Is non heterosexual sexuality still considered problematic in the US and in what situations (if any) do people feel the right to know about someone’s sexuality?
