How do I tie my boyfriend to a non-wire headboard?

I have a wire frame bed at my house so I usually tie him to it with a belt, but he has a flat headboard so I can’t actually fix him to it meaning the effect is obviously not quite the same since his movement is not really restricted. Any suggestions as to how to create a similar effect (restraint, doesn’t have to be attachment to the headboard) to dom him would be greatly appreciated!
