I started being more vulnerable and sharing that I have a lot going on, too. So I guess I was just direct ? I’m trying to find a better way to communicate it lol the other day I told a friend “hey I’m gonna call you back later, I’ve had a lot going on today at work and I only have so much mental space.” This is a friend who repeatedly gets into situations.
I stopped going after guys who ignored me. Late reply to texts. Not picking up call in the first ring. Saying NO.
If we’re being real, I didn’t figure out boundaries until I was driven to psychosis by an ex and lost all of my friends in the process of my spiral downward. I shut myself in from the outside world for a few years and now I have the same tolerance for boundary pushers as Chappell Roan.
A little menty b 👍 your results may vary.
I started saying “oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope things get better for you soon” instead of trying to fix everyone’s problems.
