I just read the post about tourist cities in America, and it got me thinking about American landmarks. We have the well known ones: Grand Canyon, Mt Rushmore, Statue of Liberty, etc. But I love to find the unexpected places to go or things to do (crystal mining in Arkansas? Gators in the Everglades? Water at Wall Drug?)
So Americans: what are your favorite off the beaten path places, and what are some tips and tricks our international friends should consider if they'd like to visit?
