I(f24) met this guy(m26) online some time back and we clicked instantly eventhough we live on opposite corners of the world. We text every single day multiple times and call sometimes. The first time I talked with him it felt like I knew him from before. We have a lot of similarities(same life goals, same upbringing, same age group). We both are single, each other’s types and what we want out of relationship perfectly aligns. Everything was platonic at first but soon I started to like him as more than a friend. He also flirted with me and gave me a lot of signs he liked me so I confessed to him and he rejected me because eventhough he liked me he didn’t want to be in a long distance relationship, which is fair since they are tough. But we still kept on talking every day. One day he told me he would date me if I lived near him. He told me he wants me to move to his country(I have expressed interest in moving away from my home country because there’s nothing holding me back here but I realistically can’t move in the next 3 years). We still flirt all the time. He asks to see my photos, says I look nice/pretty/hot, sends me his photos, checks in on how my day was, teases me, shares what’s bothering him, etc. We both want to see eachother in person but I think we both are afraid we might not have the same chemistry in person, or worse if we do we might fall harder for each other. I want to get over him and I tried dating but it did not help. He wants to do the same but has not put himself out there yet. I cannot cut him out of my life as he is a really good friend. I feel like this friendship is doomed. How do I get over him?

TL;DR- I met a guy online. We both like each other but can’t date cause we live far away. How do I get over him?
