Hypothetically, Let’s say you have two friends, Friend 1 and Friend 2. Let’s say both friends forgot their wallet one day, so when you guys went out to eat you covered them ( I am talking hanging with each person one on one). Let’s say this scenario happened a couple times and you covered them each time.

A few months down the line let’s say it was you who forgot the wallet when hanging with both friends separately. Friend 1 covered you however Friend 2 even tho he had money, didn’t cover you.

From this point forward would you help friend 2 again if they ever forgot their wallet?

  1. You are talking about money and friends. That’s different and specific.

Helping someone is one thing but not everyone can afford lunch. I’ve spent years of my life carefully adding up my items before I order to make sure I can afford my share of the bill.

  2. Well, what did Friend 2 say when you asked him to help you out? I can’t even imagine the rationale. “Sure, I have the money but you’re on your own!”

You: “You didn’t seem to mind taking money from me that time I covered you when you forgot YOUR wallet!”

    Him: (????)

I can’t even imagine the answer to this scenario.

That’s so insulting I’m not even sure why you’d continue BEING his friend, much less “covering” for him in the future. Unless he literally didn’t have enough money, in which case you both would’ve skipped it, or he would’ve offered to split his meal with you.

    THAT is what friends do!
