Hi everyone! Long story short I went on the most amazing date with a guy I met at a bar a few weeks ago. He asked me on a first date in a very gentlemanly way at the bar versus trying to get drunk and go home. We’re both 25. Our first date was amazing. He had this whole date itinerary and it truly was the best first date I’ve ever been on.

The date was 3 days ago. The guy went on a trip and got in a car accident and I saw him when he got back. Luckily he has no life changing injuries but does need hip surgery and said the recovery would take about 6 months. I’m confused on what to do now moving forward. I like him but we’ve only been on one date and now he needs surgery. What do I do? Is it dumb to pursue it even though he needs surgery?

  1. So what he needs surgery? If this is a guy you are seriously interested in having a long term relationship then surgery shouldn’t change that. You might need to give him some space to recover for a little bit but I’d say why not see him again whether that be at his home if he can’t be mobile or maybe another place that works for the both of you

  2. His body is just a vessel for his soul, it’s fixable. His hip didn’t make you have a good time, his soul/mind did. So what if he needs surgery, if you give up now in 6 months time you could have missed out on the best thing to happen to you. Date that man, he might be all you have ever been looking for.

  3. Honestly, this is an opportunity to show that you’re wifey material. If you have dates at his place where you cook for him or help out as he rehabilitates it will likely make a massive impression on him.

If you actually have fun in that scenario and enjoy each others company without all of the bells and whistles, you could find something special.
