Women who rented units that specified “Female occupants only”, what was it like?

1. I’d assume it’s because it’s a shared housing situation and the owner is female???

2. As a female I would not want a male roommate. Especially after watching the last two episodes of Worst Roommate Ever.

4. I live in a really awesome building that is female only, it’s an old farmhouse built in the 1800’s that was converted into 5 apartments (all occupied by females of varying ages). There were already people living in the other apartments when my current apartment became vacant so the owner was specifically looking for another female tenant so as not to make things weird/uncomfortable for the other tenants since that was what they were used to. It’s been awesome and I have no complaints. I was convinced it would be sketch when I saw the ad but once the owner explained why and I saw the space understood.
