Breakfast is by far my favorite meal and usually every Saturday I like to treat myself to a nice one. Where I live there are many local/national chains that serve some good eats. Some chains nearby I like:

– Dunkin Donuts
– Wawa
– McDonald’s
– Chick Fil A
– Waffle House

Locally, my area has lots of small breakfast places both cafe and diner style. Usually I order some scrambled eggs with hot sauce, bacon, and something sweet like pancakes, waffles, donuts, or French toast. Many of these i often make at home to save money. Also of course I have a cup of the darkest coffee i can find with a small amount of vanilla creamer.

What do you guys like for a good breakfast?

  1. I usually skip breakfast but my favorite breakfast food is french toast, yum yum

  2. Usually just local restaurants. I like getting a breakfast skillet, or if it’s closer to lunch I’ll usually get a Reuben sandwich

  3. McDonald’s.

Double sausage, round egg and cheese McGriddle. Hashbrowns. Orange juice.

  4. A local diner when that’s an option and Ill have my bacon crispy, hashbrown with franks, eggs sunny side, English muffin toast.

When I’m at home and its a special occasion, I make a mean French toast.

  5. Not really a fan of breakfast, but if a place has corned beef hash, I’m all about it

  6. I love diners. Lately my goto is eggs benedict with hash browns, but belgian waffles and french toast are also personal favorites.

  7. Jack’s is an Alabama based fast food chain that has great breakfast. Their Chicken Biscuit is better than
    McDonald’s or Chick Fil A.

Another Broken Egg Cafe is a sit down brunch focused chain around the South. Their Chicken and Waffles are my favorite thing there.

I’m particular with my breakfast because I don’t like eggs. Not allergic and I eat things where they are sn ingredient, I just don’t like them as a dish themselves.

  8. I’m leaning into the San Antonio stereo type. I love a good breakfast taco.

Papas, queso, and huevos, flour tortilla and tons of salsa Rojas.

  9. Good old IHOP. I like the 2x2x2 with eggs, link sausage, pancakes, and a side order of grits. My kids (20’s) tend to go for the Belgian Waffle, and my husband orders either a Denver omelet or a burger.

  10. I try to find the best breakfast place in my area with eggs Benedict. I love them and they’re hard to make as good at home (or annoying at least).

English muffin, Canadian bacon, soft poached egg and delicious hollandaise sauce. Yum.

  11. I’d skip all of those chains and hit a proper diner.

Two eggs sunny side up, hash browns, corned beef, rye toast.

I do get coffee at Wawa or Dunkin though.

  12. I usually eat dinner leftovers for breakfast and I have green tea with that.

But if I’m going out specifically for breakfast food, I do love eggs benedict.

  13. Local diners. Eggs corned beef hash and toast. Eggs over medium, hash crispy. Maybe add hash browns if the place makes them right.

There’s a local coffee shop that makes a sausage egg and cheese with chipotle mayo and I get it on their in house made everything bagel. It is divine.

One place makes homemade corned beef hash and it is the best.

If I go to The Brunswick Diner it is all the same but I add a chocolate milkshake. Dunno why but there is something magical about milkshake for breakfast at 7am.

  14. I’ve got two places near me I go to somewhat regularly, plus a ton of other little diners that I’ll hit up.

For any of the diners, it’s two eggs over easy, homefries, link sausage, and whole-wheat toast.

For the other spot, it’s chilaquiles with eggs over easy.

  15. Usually if we go out for breakfast, we’ve been going to a local brewery that has a fantastic weekend breakfast/ brunch. They’ve got really excellent breakfast pizzas, great fried perch and eggs, and my personal favorite, a breakfast sandwich that has a fried egg, whatever meat you want, and pimento cheese. That sandwich…. I could make something similar at home but it will never be as good, imo. I don’t enjoy the breakfast items at any chain places except a sausage biscuit with cheese and a hash brown from McDonald’s if I’m super super hung over.

  16. Breakfast burritos. I used to live above a taqueria that made killer breakfast burritos with chorizo or al pastor or whatever meat they had excess of, eggs, peppers and some type of cheese.

That and a mug of coffee every morning on my commute. So good.

    Now it’s just coffee.

  17. I like the old school diner type places. Depending on my mood I’m going:

Scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, bacon

One of the variations of eggs benedict

I never really got into waffle/pancake type things. Not a big sweet fan.

  18. I’m a sucker for an egg McMuffin. Otherwise a Wawa sizzli, I usually get either the turkey sausage croissant or the sausage muffin, I wish they would do a turkey sausage muffin.

  19. I don’t go out for breakfast cause I don’t wake up early. I don’t eat breakfast at all actually

  20. I like local diners. I always get either pancakes or waffles with homefries and a cup of coffee.

For a fast breakfast out, I get an everything bagel toasted dark with plain cream cheese and an iced coffee.

  21. There’s a local German theme bakery cafe. They make biscuit breakfast sandwich (not German), and I get their egg cheese and tomato one.

I do like to get biscuits and gravy because I usual do not make biscuits.

But I also like “home fries”, chopped fried potatoes.

It seems the French/Belgian connection to Canada is pretty strong. And we definitely get Belgian waffle and Belgian beer breakfast when we go.

weekday cafe breakfast: croissant sandwich is preferred

  22. A place near me does brunch on Sunday, with the best French Toast I’ve ever had – challah bread fried with cinnamon and orange zest batter, with cinnamon maple syrup. That + crispy bacon + orange juice = a great way to start a Sunday.

  23. We have several family owned diners close to us. And they’re awesome.

Favorite breakfast; A farmers breakfast with fresh marble rye toast.

  24. If I’m just stopping by for something quick on my way to work, Dunkin is my go-to. They are everywhere and I like their coffee and breakfast food, though their donuts leave much to be desired.

If I actually want a good breakfast I’ll go to a restaurant and get a breakfast burrito or chicken and waffles.

  25. Diners or local breakfast places – Parker’s Maple Barn in New Hampshire is awesome! French toast or pumpkin pancakes with real maple syrup and crispy bacon

  26. There’s a wing joint about ten minutes from my house that serves breakfast biscuits…they’re pretty darn good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but miles from the worst. A good, spicy red link biscuit (a spicy pork sausage with a red casing, sometimes called a “red hot,” or “hot link”) for a couple of bucks? There are worse ways to start your day.

  27. I’m a NY bagel guy – salt bagel with jalapeño cream cheese is my favorite. Gotta be from a good bagel place.

  28. I like The Original Pancake House for a leisurely dine-in experience. For fast food, the Breakfast Baconator at Wendy’s is probably my favorite.

  29. Live a little south of Tulsa, Ok. If the diner doesn’t have a permanent table filled with old semi retired farmers drinking coffee, don’t eat there.

  30. I sometimes like a Mexican breakfast out

Otherwise just basic two eggs, chicken sausage and toast at a diner and my girls get pancakes

  31. My town has a cafe with their own OJ machine and some badass omelets. I also have a local bagel shop that makes their own cream cheeses.

At the cafe, I get coffee, OJ, and an avocado/tomato/mozzarella omelet with sourdough toast and hash browns.

At the bagel shop, I get a bacon egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar, or a pretzel bagel with garlic herb cream cheese.

  32. I like bagels. I have been getting pumpernickel bagels.

    With vegetable cream cheese.

Not every veggie cream cheese is good though — some of them just suck.

  33. I never ever EVER thought I’d say this, but I’ve fallen in love with WENDY’S breakfasts. I don’t like Wendy’s ordinarily, but they have 2 chicken sandwiches – one with maple butter and one where you can choose honey or, my personal favorite, hot honey, and they’re both fabulous. The first is on a croissant and the second on a biscuit.
