I have a hard time talking or relating with others. The factor that makes this difficult for me is the fact I spend most of my time studying or doing computer programming. I hardly spend time watching TV, playing sports, playing video games, or doing “normal people things”. I can talk very well with others if it deals with my studies, computer science, and math, but when it comes to small talk or anything else, I am at an absolute blank.

While I know I can invest time in doing “normal people things”, I often find them boring. I also think it would be disingenuous of me to do things just to impress others.

What should I do?

  1. This isn’t primary school, People won’t simply be friends with someone just because they share the same interests.

I’ve known people who had normal interests and knew a lot of people but they still ended up with zero friends for different reasons.

The opposite happened with people who had completely different interests but people wanted them around.

It’s not about what you like, It’s about you from the inside and that’s something you can’t mostly change.

All you have to do is be nice and social then you will definitely meet a group of people who you will suddenly feel a “click” with them and they will keep wanting you around.

The problem isn’t making friends, Potential friends and lovers exist everywhere but the problem is finding them by meeting a lot of people.
