There is a guy (22m) that I (22f) used to be exclusive with for a brief period of time in high school and he is my neighbor at home lol. Long story short, I texted him one night and asked “wyd” at 2am (yktv) completely out of the blue but he said he was too tired to hang but would love to down the road then started having a full conversation with me about how hard post-grad has been. Ever since then, which was in March, he’s been randomly texting me at least twice a week and opening up about how he is sorry for what happened between us five years ago in high school (which wasn’t a big deal at all in my eyes), opened up to me about his addiction to drugs and how he is currently coming off of them, and has mentioned us grabbing dinner soon on him. However, he takes like two days to respond to my messages but is active on social media and other times he responds in literally 10 seconds. In high school we stopped “talking” because at that time in my life I wanted a relationship and he didn’t but he led me on to think he did. Personally, I don’t want a relationship I just wanted to hook up with him, but I still think he’s a cool and sweet guy. I just have no idea what he wants from me and am super confused. I also feel awful because he is going through withdrawal from drugs so I don’t want to try to initiate a hookup since he seems like he needs someone to confide in and I feel like that would be inappropriate after everything he’s recently shared with me.
TL;DR I texted a guy I was exclusive with in high school a few months ago to hook up and he’s been texting me twice a week every week opening up to me about what he’s going through. Sometimes he replies in two days and sometimes in 10 seconds. I just want a hook up but I can’t tell what he wants.
