I usually try for a balance between this is who I am as a person and this is why I’d be good for the job. So something like “outside of work I really enjoy baking and playing tennis but when I’m at work I prefer working with my coworkers and an organized work space so I can be productive, I especially like getting to work on activism it’s something I’m very passionate about.” A combination so they see who you are as a person and also what you can contribute to them/company/organization.
“Hi, I’m W, nice to meet you. I went to school for X, with a focus on Y, and I’ve been in the industry for Z years now. I like to A, B, and C.”
If you’re a little newer to the job market, it’s more like “I’m X, nice to meet you. I like Y and Z, and I’m excited about this opportunity. I’m a hard worker and I’m a quick learner.”
Talk about your yourself, what you like to do day to day, something that has changed your outlook/made you a better person, your favourite sports etc
