So i just got an IUD about a month ago, it’s great cause no period but my boyfriend is on the bigger side down below. We’ve tried a couple positions that work great but in doggy, he swears he can feel it. I haven’t got on top yet because i’m scared it will hurt him but i want to hear some other experiences with this, or some recommendations on what works for others.

  1. its in your uterus so unless its misplaced, his dick is most likely not going through your cervix and into your uterus. if he is sure its not the string hes feeling, it might need to be adjusted

  2. My wife had one, and absolutely yes I could feel it. For me personally I did feel it more when she was on top or doggy But depending on his length, your angle and how you ride will make a difference. Take your time and find a position or modify a position so it works for both of you

  3. Unless he’s break through your cervix, there’s no way he feels it. It’s just psychological. The IUD is placed inside the uterus. The penis goes into the vaginal canal and will not reach the uterus. If he’s feeling anything at all, it’s the string, not the IUD itself. I’d take a look at this article to get more information: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/ask-experts/can-a-guy-feel-an-iud#:~:text=Usually%20your%20partners%20won't,t%20stick%20out%20as%20much.

  4. I’ve had an iud with bigger partners and I’ve had no problems with any position but only one felt it. If everything is placed right, the strings can be cut shorter if necessary.

  5. If he’s being bothered by the strings, they can be trimmed shorter. He can’t feel the IUD itself, its inside your uterus.

  6. I had a partner who said that the strings felt sharp. Like fishing wire and poked him at times. I imagine it must have hurt 🙁

  7. The strings will soften and curl around your cervix in time. My bf could feel it too at first but I’ve had it 9 months now and can’t feel it anymore.

  8. As others have said, he is feeling the strings. They can be clipped shorter, but your OBGYN may want to wait a bit on that because they will soften and curl over the next few months (and if they are too short and curl all the way up into the cervix, that makes removal more complicated and sometimes more painful). There are penetration bumpers that you can purchase that could limit his penetration depth for the moment until the strings soften up. Ohnut is one of the more popular brands, but there are all sorts of options, if y’all can’t find a position that’s comfortable for the moment.

  9. Ask your gynecologist to cut the wires.

My wife had to ask (twice) to cut thrm completely!
