As the title says, I’ve just managed to get my license at the ripe old age of 23. I’ve been thinking about doing delivery driving to supplement my income, is it worth it?

Any advice on companies/apps to steer clear from as someone who has just passed?

  1. Do you mean using your own vehicle? If so, then you might find insurance expensive and maybe even impossible to get.

If this is a second job then the cost of fuel, insurance and tax might not make it worth while.

  2. You’ll need class 3 business use to include deliveries. Class 1 & 2 do t cover it, they’re for driving to different offices etc as part of your job or like home care workers driving to different clients. It’s probably expensive.

  3. I think most delivery companies, just eat and deliveroo don’t pay by the hour, they pay per delivery! So sometimes you will only get one per hour on quiet days!

  4. I’d be surprised if anyone would employ you as a driver with such little experience. I’d have thought you would need x number of years experience
