So I matched with this girl on tinder about 3 months ago, we went on a date to a bar, had a few drinks, had great chats and the time flew by. We are both still studying (dentistry for her and medicine for me), ambitious and career focussed. Hence our busy schedules we still exchanged a few messages almost every day since our first date. We see each other about every 1.5 weeks (again due to our busy schedules). The last few weeks we have been exploring the physical intimacy side of things, and this was (imo) going great.

Due to exams and clinical rotations we hadn’t seen each other in nearly 3 weeks. When we met up again she seemed distant (especially physically). When I asked what was wrong she said she had been thinking and now is questioning whether our future is a relationship or good friends. I was honestly confused, because our last date went well, nothing out of the ordinary and we were moving forward in terms of physical intimacy. When I asked for clarification she said she really likes me, she likes spending time with me, feels a ‘click’, but she has feeling that the physical attraction isn’t at the level it should be at this point in dating and that shes confused by this.

She didn’t friendzone me completely (yet) because shes unsure of her feelings due to the aforementioned physical attraction issues. She really wants to continue to see me and we even planned our next date. But overall I still find this quite confusing because I have a feeling this coming out of the blue.

What does this mean for the long term perspective? Should I continue to see her? How should I proceed?

  1. That depends on what you want, because there’s nothing worse then wanting to date someone and having those intense feelings but being locked in that friendship. So you gotta ask yourself if you’d want to be in a friendship with her or dating. And if you want to date but she wants to be friends there’s nothing wrong with just calling it there. You deserve to do what’s best for you
