Women who work outside the home: what do you wear to work each day, and what is your job?

  1. Black/gray/blue/navy pants, flowy patterned top or button down, and flats or clean sneakers. I’m a mental health counselor.

  2. Tank top, flannel shirt and 3/4 length active wear pants underneath overalls with work boots. I’m an apprentice maintenance engineer/fitter 🙃

  3. Black dress pant yoga pants, black v-neck shirt, green field jacket. I’m big on routine/having a “uniform.” I work in an office but need to enter labs and production zones often so high coverage is necessary.

  4. i’m in marketing, so i wear classic outfits with some updated aspects. i’m a true autumn, so i stick within that palette.

  5. I work as a hostess and with books in the most famous restaurant in the city. I have known the staff and the owners since I was a baby and they couldn’t say no to me when I asked for a job hehe.

I usually wear more polished and professional clothes, such as shirts, skirts and pants. No jeans, no ordinary clothes allowed, as well as something provocative. I do my makeup minimally and always have my hair fixed up. It’s an amazing experience and the income is pretty cool for an 18yearold and her first job.

  6. I only go to the office about once per week (I occasionally skip a week) but the day I do go in usually involves deploying technical hardware in often-less-than-clean areas, so I always wear black jeans that look enough like slacks tat I don’t appear to be a complete slob, all-black athletic shoes that can take a beating (closed toes are very important), a business-casual top (I prefer v-necks and short sleeves) and a very heavy, very warm hoodie in my actual office space because it’s so freezing we could honestly store blood products in there without needing to worry about them. (I work out of a hospital.) In addition to that I wear an ID badge that gets me into everywhere but the security office and the pharmacies, and an N95 mask.

Really I try to look somewhat professional and dressed-up without compromising comfort and durability, particularly when I have to spend time crawling around on the floor or behind equipment.

  7. Dress or dress pants and nice shirt. I would in quality assurance for a science company.

  8. Jeans, a T-shirt, and a cap. In winter, a button-down shirt and a coat too. I work at a pizza place, inside and delivery.

  9. Usually I wear a t-shirt or tank top with shorts. In winter, I’ll wear jeans and add a hoodie. My hair is almost always in a ponytail, bun, or claw clip. I wear eye makeup but nothing on my face because I’ll inevitably sweat it off. I work at a gift shop that sells souvenirs to people from cruise ships (and other tourists).

  10. I got two jobs.

First one is as a freight loader for a DC or warehouse. I wear legging and tanks tops with steel toed sneakers. Racerback sport bras. All fairly comfy with my hair up and braided.

Second job is crew at a McDonald’s. For the I use the uniform with my nicer leggings/jeggings. Hair more styled and light make up to make me look a little nicer/younger. I’m 31 and look mid twenties. Do the make up right I look early twenties at the most. Same shoes.

I enjoy going back and forth between the two of them. It’s nice to look good and nice to not worry depending on the day.

  11. Clean comfortable clothing. I change my clothes usually 2x/day (between clients). Often scrubs, T-shirt and jeans, or a cross mix. I’m a house manager/cook/housekeeper. Gotta be able to sweat respectively and stay cool.

  12. Electrician. This time of wear tank top under company shirt, carpenter style pants- men’s becuase price and pockets, Carolina steel toed boots

  13. Usually nice slacks I pick up at Marshall’s/Ross/Tj Maxx and a shirt/cardigan combo, simple flats. On Friday I wear jeans and a t shirt. I work in an office!

(Cannot recommend Marshalls/Ross/TJ Maxx enough if you want cute business casual on a budget)

  14. It depends on if I have to go in front of a client or not. If I’m just going to my regular office, I lean towards jeans, a plain tshirt, and a cardigan or hoodie. Sometimes a dress and a hoodie. Sandals or gym shoes, depending on the weather. If I have to see a client, it’s usually a suit or more professional dress with a jacket or cardigan. Dress flats for shoes. I’m an insurance underwriter.

  15. T shirt. Gym pants. Tennis shoes. Whatever bullshit I want. I work at a factory.

  16. I’m a waitress and bartender. I can wear whatever I want as long I’m presentable. My outfits usually consist of a top, trousers, old trainers, bright socks and funky jewellery
