So about 3 weeks ago I got a email from the passport office that I needed to get a passport interview within the next two weeks to be able to continue my first UK passport application. I’ve been calling the number nearly every day they’re open, but I always get the message saying that they’re busy or whatnot and to send a email to them. And so I did about two weeks ago, they then sent me a email back saying they received it and that they will contact me but since then I’ve not got any notifications from them at all. I’m just worried about this as the email did say I had to get it done in two weeks and it’s already been three.
Does anyone have any experience with getting in contact with the folk who do these appointments? I live in Glasgow btw, thanks

  2. Why oh why oh why do the British love to make things as complicated as possible. It’s quite remarkable really.

    I’d write a formal letter outlining the times and dates you’ve tried to contact them to arrange an appointment and ask them to advise you on how to resolve the situation.

    Ultimately I think passport problems are well published at the moment, but I wouldn’t put it passed them making their issues your problem tbh.

    If you cannot get any further call the standard number 0300 222 0000, press 8 then 3, and ask to be put through to the Customer Service Management Team, they’re actual HMPO staff, not Teleperformance.

  4. I’ve had this exact same experience, but only been waiting for 1 week. I phoned the general passport helpline (0300 222 0000) and spoke to someone on Thursday, and was just told to “wait it out”. Although, the person didn’t really sound like they knew what they were talking about though.
