That time just after college/uni just seems to absolutely blow. I’m not 18 years old anymore but I still feel kinda young and yet I’m made to feel like I’m ancient for being 23. One of my friends even got asked ‘what are you doing here’ for being in a club aged 23.
No one wants to do the fun things we did between 18-21. I know everyone works now, I have a busy job so i get it. I’m single so maybe that’s a factor. People are so reluctant to go out. My social life and phone is so dry and my friends live all over the country and beyond, no longer just down the road.
Surely there’s good times still to come, because the thought of my best days already being behind me is so depressing. Especially as it was cut short by Covid. Anyone else feeling the same? Is 23 *really* that old by society’s standards?

I don’t think 23 is old at all, however you might feel like it sometimes because usually it’s around the time when people graduate college and start their “real adult life” (whatever that means) and it comes with a lot of changes.
Being single is definitely a factor for boredom or even just longing for that kind of connection, especially when you see it everywhere around you.
Maybe try making friends who work with you? This way you have similar schedules and can find more easily time to hang out or even just chat around the office during the day. Online friends can help with loneliness too and your phone wouldn’t feel “dry”. The biggest downside is when you actually get attached to them and would love meeting and doing stuff in person but you can’t. But it’s a great way to broaden your horizons and meet very interesting people.
Fun stuff usually differs by definition when you are a teen and when you reach a certain age but 23 seems to be just at the line between this. I get that it’s no fun doing things by yourself so maybe try to set up a plan with your friends, such as once a month we go to a club, once every 2 weeks we go out and eat, every week we meet somewhere and talk, idk, find funner stuff hahaha
That’s the advice I think I can give you, I’m not at that age yet but I don’t have much more until then. Hope you find your people.
