  1. “We accept the love we think we deserve.” – The Perks of being a Wallflower

  2. “No. You’re not a bad person. You’re a terrific person. You’re my favorite person. But every once in a while, you can be a real c***.”

    – Mewtwo

  5. >”Some people are just born with tragedy in their blood.” – *Donnie Darko*

Or if a conversation is allowed, there’s this exchange in *WarGames* (to put the last quote into context):

    >Stephen Falken: Futility. That there’s a time when you should just give up.

    >Jennifer: What kind of a lesson is that?

    >Stephen Falken: Did you ever play tic-tac-toe?

    >Jennifer: Yeah, of course.

    >Stephen Falken: But you don’t anymore.

    >Jennifer: No.

    >Stephen Falken: Why?

    >Jennifer: Because it’s a boring game. It’s always a tie.

    >Stephen Falken: Exactly. There’s no way to win. The game itself is pointless! But back in the war room, they believe you can win a nuclear war.

  6. “The hopeless dream of being – not seeming, but being. At every waking moment, alert. The gulf between what you are with others and what you are alone. The vertigo and the constant hunger to be exposed, to be seen through, perhaps even wiped out. Every inflection and every gesture a lie, every smile a grimace. Suicide? No, too vulgar. But you can refuse to move, refuse to talk, so that you don’t have to lie. You can shut yourself in. Then you needn’t play any parts or make wrong gestures. Or so you thought. But reality is diabolical.”

  7. You want to be an individual, right? You look like you’re wearing a uniform. You look like a punk. That’s not rebellion…that’s fashion. Rebellion happens in the mind. You can’t create it…you just are that way.” – SLC Punk

  8. “You need people like me so you could point your fucking fingers at”

    Tony Montana

  9. “Don’t let anyone ever make you feel like you don’t deserve what you want.”

10 Things I Hate About You

  10. “Where the white women at?” – Blazing Saddles

First thing that popped in my mind lol

  11. A Dishonest man, you could always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, its the honest one you should watch out for.

  12. “Ok, I’ll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time.”

Broadcast News: Albert Brooks as Aaron Altman

  13. My brother and I say these all the time

“I want my pink shirt back!” “oh my god, you can’t just ask people why they’re white!” and “say crack again.”

  14. “Well they can’t all be winners, can they?” — Bad Santa

I find myself saying this at least once a week. Coworker leads a meeting shittily? Restaurant fucks up my order? “Well they can’t all be winners, can they?”

  15. Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving!

    – Auntie Mame

  16. “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them.” – Petyr Baelish

  17. “What’s in there?”

“Only what you take with you.”
    – Yoda, to Luke in Empire Strikes Back

  18. Devil Wears Prada:

“You sold your soul to the devil when you put on your first pair of Jimmy Choos. I saw it.”

“Yes, because that’s really what this whole multibillion-dollar industry is all about, isn’t it? Inner beauty.”

    Clueless:

    “Ugh, as if!”

Mel: “What the hell is that?”

    Cher: “A dress.”

    Mel: “Says who?”

    Cher: “Calvin Klein.”

  19. “If I was a girl in a book this would all be so easy. Just give up the world happily. I’ve always been quite content with my family, I don’t understand it. Perhaps I was too quick in turning him down, Laurie. If he asked me again I think I would say yes. Do you think he’ll ask me again? I care more to be loved, I want to be loved. I just feel like women, they have minds and they have souls as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition and talent as well as just beauty, and I’m so sick of people saying love is all a woman is fit for. I’m so sick of it, but I’m so lonely.”

    – Jo March, “Little Women”

  20. *The Once-ler:* Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better… it’s not.
*The Once-ler (referring to the last Truffula seed):* I know it may seem small and insignificant, but it’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become. That’s not just a seed… anymore than you’re just a boy.
    –The Lorax

  21. Not my favorite, but the one I use the most is from Anchorman.

    “Well , that escalated quickly.”

  22. “I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible” – When Harry Met Sally.

  23. My fav because the sentiment is applicable to nearly all of life – Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring:

Frodo to Gandalf about Gollum, who is following them: “It’s a pity Bilbo didn’t kill him when he had the chance.”

Gandalf: “Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo’s hand. Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo?

Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill…”

I always come back to this when I’m feeling confused about why things have happened in my life, or about other people’s behaviour.

  24. >*”In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau’s famous motto, “Anyone can cook.” But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist can come from anywhere.”*
