I am very likely to be experimenting and exploring my sexuality in the near future. I want to try things with men, and as a man myself, I am conscious that it is supposedly really unsafe to have gay sex.
Of course it’s dangerous with girls too, but is it really much worse with the same gender? Should I be taking the extreme precautions that it says online? Will I always have to wear condoms? I can’t even be 100% safe with handjobs?

I feel upset because I am so excited for the future, but all of these things are scaring me.

  1. Gay sex IS NOT riskier than straight sex. Handjobs from men are just as safe/risky as with women. Just as with women, ask if they’re clean (in the US it’s assault if they lie, & it’s okay to ask to see records), use a condom if penetration is happening, less people use them for oral but STDs transfer just as easily via mouth. Just as anal goes with cis women, use lots of lube, GO SLOW & gentle during stretching, the bottom sets the pace. People use less protection when they’re being exclusive or trust the other person to practice safer sex with other people.

    Have fun!
