I was thinking of three categories, I’ll start:

The Netherlands:

1) Famous and respected: Anouk

2) Famous and sometimes made fun of: Frans Bauer

3) Not that famous, but great: Spinvis

  1. Somebody else will do Swiss German, and I don’t really listen French and Italian. So Rumantsch it is.

    1) Bibi Vaplan, Pascal Gamboni, Linard Bardill, Liricas Analas

    2) Not sure what you mean by that category. There was a rock band called Hades in the 80s that was bit cringey, but hey, it was the eighties.

    3) Applies to all those under 1, actually, because the target audience is only a few ten thousand. They run regularly on the national radio, however.

  2. I’ll do Irish because it’s more challenging 👊

    1) I think Enya is definitely the most famous native Irish speaker and although her biggest songs are in English, she has [loads of songs in Irish](https://youtu.be/fXf9WXkYI8g). Her siblings formed a band called Clannad and had what must be the best selling single with Irish in it with the [Harry’s Game Theme](https://youtu.be/2KpNzalFKPo) as it was subsequently sampled in a [90’s huge trance anthem](https://youtu.be/wXf1yZ_xdsA)

    2) there’s no- one in that bracket.

    3) I’m going to say Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta. They got a lot of attention (in the more niche world of traditional music enthusiasts) following [this performance](https://youtu.be/QisR33eN6Cs) at Fleadh Ceol which is a big annual Irish traditional music competition. They’re super talented kids.
