I’ve been talking to this girl and I think she really is very beautiful. But since she is self conscious I don’t think she takes what I say seriously. She probably thinks I’m being nice or something but I genuinely do believe that she looks great. How do I convey stuff like that in an honest way so it’s believable? I know how she feels because I’m self conscious too.

If she isn’t receptive to compliments on her appearance, don’t give those type of compliments… it may make her uncomfortable.
Compliment things she’s worked hard on instead of her looks… she’ll appreciate it more when the compliment is more specific & thoughtful rather than the typical, “you look great/nice/cute”
