What are some of your honest experiences with having a friend who is leading a more comfortable life financially than you are and what are some inherent/obvious insecurities that came with it?

1. My friend is getting her dorm paid by her father. She got a new laptop (like a convertible, so not necessarily a cheap one). He even encouraged her to study as long as she wants to. It’s such a weird difference in comparison to myself, but yeah. It saddens me a bit but I’m happy for her.

2. Not an insecurity because my circumstance isn’t something to be embarrassed of.. but when I was apartment hunting; homegirl was severely overestimating what normal people whose parents don’t have a successful niche business can afford.
