I like to remember that few people are always or even usually confident (except narcissists) in the sense and fewer still are lucky enough to have the outcomes reflect their confidence.
We are (nearly) all just powering threw- persistence is its own confidence and it’s what I focus on when I’m in the sort of situation where I feel lacking confidence and am unsure what’s going to happen.
Learn how to be genuinely busy in your life pursuing your goals and hobbies, while interacting with other people on the side. Find something you enjoy doing or are passionate for in life and keep doing it overtime. That will help you build self esteem and self confidence. Chase excellence, not people.
Confidence is one of two things:
1. Knowing you are capable
2. Knowing you are going to be okay even if it goes wrong.
That second one, focus on it; take it to heart and fully internalise it. There are very few social situations where what you do is going to actually hurt you.
