I pick up my friend (in my parent’s car) and we are driving and I look over and see she has started vaping in the car. I politely asked her if she wouldn’t mind not smoking in the car and she apologized but I was kind of taken aback. I don’t smoke so maybe I’m biased, but is it not considered really rude to vape in someone’s car without asking them?

  1. Your friend apologized so I’m pretty sure she didn’t mean to be rude.

For an ex-smoker, vaping can feel so harmless and sweet-smelling in comparison… To the point of forgetting it’s not always appropriate haha.

  2. It doesnt smell bad or have a chance to start a fire unlike a cigaret. But its still proper to ask first

  3. It was rude of her to feel free to do so, but apologizing and not making it again shows she respected you set boundaries.
