An impossible question I know but let’s say a foreign friend visits you for the first time, which beer would you offer to represent your country?

  1. Liquid Cocaine from Mad Scientist.
It’s a somewhat simple dIPA, but it works, is widely available, isn’t expensive in craft terms, and is enjoyable for a craft person and a vanilla beer drinker as well.

  2. It is an impossible question because it depends on if you prefer more bitter or sweet beer.

We have a lot of quality beer but it’s more a question of what you prefer rather than quality.

  3. I won’t risk myself into claiming I know which is *the* best, but as far as my favourite go, and the one I’d offer a friend, I’d say the 3 Monts. Then a Goudale. Then I’d switch to Belgian beers.

  4. Sonoma from Track Brewing here in Manchester, UK. Very popular with the locals. Drink it too quickly for them to make more. Delicious session IPA.

  5. haha you could put 3 Germans in a room to ask this question and receive 4 at least answers, not to mention the inevitable debate that it would start!

Generally speaking we have a very regionalized beer culture and most regions have one flavour/style that they specialise in. A lot of people will claim their own regions beer is the best out of regional pride or because its what they are accostumed to.

Personally I am a big fan of Franconian and Bavarian beers and my favorite would certainly be Tegernseer Hell, which has a light and sweet refreshing taste that I really enjoy.

  6. Difficult! Not the one you get in packs of 24 cans at Denner anyhow.

Boxer is really good, or so I remember. Haven’t had that in years.
