When at our home my husband and I always shower together and brush our teeth at the same time. When staying as a guest somewhere be it a friend’s or Airbnb we do the same thing. I was just thinking it might be unusual that we do this at all and it might make our hosts uncomfortable.

My mental justification is that it makes bathroom time go faster, but I’m worried it’s weird for the hosts. Thank you!

  2. This is what my wife and I do when we visit the in-laws. We don’t shower together, that shower isn’t big enough for two people. But one of us will shower while the other uses the sink, then we switch.

    I doubt anyone in an AirBNB will care. If its a shared space, be mindful of how long you’re taking

  3. I wouldn’t really think about it. If you’re just using the bathroom it’s odd but if you’re both sleeping at that place, I wouldn’t think it was odd.

  4. I’d assume you’d be doing sexual stuff and be embarrassed to know your doing that even if your of age and normal.

  5. The showering together would be odd if you’re staying with someone just because it’s associated with sex (even if you’re not doing anything sexual in this case). Depending on who you’re staying with and what kind of relationship you have with them, it might be okay, but it would definitely be noticed.

  7. If the bathroom is attached to the bedroom it is fine. If it’s a common bathroom than it is weird.

    If any of my married or intimate couple friends stayed at my house I would not think it was too strange. Maybe a brief thought of “oh they are both in the bathroom.” My wife and I do the same at home. Generally at a friends house we don’t shower together but teeth brushing and everything else sure. Being in the bathroom together is fine.

  10. At first I misread this and thought you meant that you’d be in the bathroom at the same time as your hosts. That would be weird af. Luckily I re-read it. I wouldn’t give it a second thought. If they think it’s weird, then they are super uptight.

  11. As long as you’re not loudly screwing in the shower, it’s probably fine. Some people might think it’s a bit odd, but wouldn’t give it much thought.

  13. Maybe excessively puritanical people would have this opinion, but personally i don’t care what you do in my bathroom so long as there are no visible body fluids left behind when finished.

  18. Nobody is in there watching. So go ahead. They may just think you’re taking turns. But it does seem a little odd to always shower together.

  19. I’ve always felt it’s rude to have sex while you’re someone’s houseguests unless you are really comfortable with your hosts and they are with you. So literally showering together might not be the best idea, as it might give your hosts the wrong idea. But I don’t see any reason why people shouldn’t brush their teeth at the same time, brush your teeth while your husband is showering, etc.

  20. The showering together is sort of weird, because showering with another person generally sucks and I would be surprised that y’all did it.

  21. Shower, yes. They probably think you’re having sex in there. Brushing your teeth, not at all. That’s a very normal thing to do together.

  22. I was raised in a really private/puritanical household, and if I had friends stay over and shower together, it would make me uncomfortable. If one was in the shower while the other was brushing their teeth, I wouldn’t think anything.

  24. Nah I wouldn’t find that weird at all. I’d just hope my guests would be respectful enough to not have sex in the bathroom.

  25. If it’s the guest bathroom then whatever. The only friends that would stay at my house we are super close to, and I’m sure they’ve had sex in our house. So whatever

  26. Not weird at all. Nobody’s going to think you’re in there banging. I do this with my wife, and my parents do this when they’re at my house. It’s pretty common

    Edit: after reading comments some people might think you’re banging. Probably just kids and super religious people.
