Edit: if the map isnt 100% accurate that’s fine, just wanted to give people an idea of what I meant. Please feel free to define what you consider to be part of whatever region

  1. Can’t speak for the Midwest, but this map looks wildly inaccurate. The New York definitions are generally fine but I have never, in my entire life, heard anyone from South Jersey consider their region to be ‘Chesapeake’, consider themselves culturally similar to Virginia, or anything of the sort. So I’d be skeptical of all the others too.

  2. On board with the Great Lakes part. From Cleveland, always hated calling it the midwest

  3. Broadly speaking, the lower you go in the midwestern states, the more it starts to resemble Th South.

  4. Pretty weird map. In my experience, northern Kentucky is more Midwest than south.

  5. From Iowa,
Taco in a bag vs walking taco
And hot dish vs casserole southern Midwest has spicier food in my experience. Beg vs bag.

  6. I don’t get the preoccupation with segmenting the US or anywhere else into discreet areas as if they existed in a vacuum. It’s not like you cross an imaginary line and you’re in a totally different place. It’s all a continuum.
