How much is the fine?
Do not ignore it.
You need to raise a complaint with the company giving your evidence on why you believe it’s been issued in error. If the company is signed upto the voluntary code then they will consider your appeal.
If they reject it then you can go to POPLA who will look at the evidence from both sides and make a decision which the company and you agree to abide by.
Go on to http://www.pepipoo, they will get you out of it, don’t ignore it .
Has anyone on here actually been taken to court over private parking fines?

Another way you could possibly deal with it, if an appeal fails. Is complain to the retail premises. If it was a retail park may be a bit of a gamble. But when I overstayed my time in Sainsburys, I made a complaint to them.
They told me to pay it, send them a copy of the receipt and they would reimburse me with a gift card.
Myself and friends always ignore private ones. They send one reminder, and then that’s it.. Nothing else.
