I feel like when I moved to a new city during covid I lost a lot of my social ability and had a lot more awkward interactions, while having less friends around which really damaged my confidence. And that made me more awkward and made it harder for me to make now friend. It’s like a downward going spiral, stuff is getting harder and harder and I am getting more tense around people and I am not quite sure how to get out of this.

  1. Moving to a new city is a pretty big step. When I moved from home to uni I burst into tears and was homesick to the point of crying hysterically. It started to dissappear when I was distracted with work or course related stuff.

Do you have anyone to show you around your new city and introduce you to new people?

I also found going home every do often helped in understanding why I left

  2. Maybe this move hasn’t worked out then. I think 2 years is a reasonable time to look for another area to be or maybe a new job. You never know – you could be in the next place till old age and be very happy!
