Hello all, last week I matched with a newly arrived Ukrainian refugee on tinder. We had gone on a lovely date and we’ve planned another date for this week.

He is very sweet, but I am worried that the instability he has been thrown into might motivate him to seek a relationship that he wouldn’t necessarily want during normal times.

Obviously, this is only going to be the second date; the relationship question wouldn’t come until quite a few more dates! But it is something that I might like to have with him if we continue to click.

My plan is to take it slow, try not to come off as uninterested – just wait it out until he is more settled.

What do you guys think? Decent plan? Bad plan? Ever gone on dates with someone at a very unstable point in their life?

Thanks

  1. If you wanna date him, date him
but don’t hold is refugees status against him by basing assumptions about him off on it, especially if your concerns are that contrived.

  2. Well what u said is crappy. You knew he was refugee before going on the date. But you still went. Now you having doubts. I feel like you had them before, but Decided to ignore them. Now you asking for advice. lol. If that issue for you then don’t waste both of y’all times.
