This girl really liked me but we don’t have a lot in common and are very opposite when it comes to a lot of political things. I told her this over one week ago but she tried to convince me that things could work. Ended it with a phone call this evening. We were both looking for a relationship but I knew after the second date that this wasn’t going to work. I assumed she felt the same way and saw this as more of a FWB thing but after the third date I realized that was not the case.

I don’t think you are awful. If you felt like this situation with her wasn’t gonna be a great fit for you longterm; then you did the right thing by ending things now instead of leading her on. You was honest and what would have been wrong was keeping this going knowing that you aren’t ok with certain things. So don’t feel bad about this.
Better sooner than later.
