I recently learned that popcorn is primarily American.

  1. No we have popcorn too – either sweet or salted. Also hotdogs, sometimes nachos and sweets like M&Ms etc.

I think most of our cinemas are American chains so it’s probably similar to what you guys have.

  2. Usually pick n mix candy that you can buy from the cinema. There is a whole wall of it.

They also sell nachos, popcorn and assorted crunchy snacks but I typically just buy some candy.

  3. Popcorn, either salty or sweet , something to drink, some cinemas also sell nachos and hot dogs . Some people get candy or cookies. While ” The Batman ” was still in screening there were giving away for free promotional Oreos wich instead of the normal pattern there was batman stamped on the cookie .

  4. I don’t eat/drink anything in the cinema (seriously you can manage for 2h) and i die inside every time there is anyone eating loudly near me. I wish screenings with food banned were a thing here.

  5. Sweet popcorn is not a thing in Turkey – we have salted popcorn, Alaska Frigo (some sort of frozen chocolate snack thingy) and.. That’s it actually. Bigger theatres might have things like nachos with cheese as well. But popcorn is by far the most common.

  6. Usually popcorn, and occasionally nachos with dip. The nachos are much harder to balance on my lap which is filled with other stuff (bag, coat, etc), so I only go for it when I feel adventurous.

  7. Popcorn and Alaska (which is a frozen ice cream/chocolate bar). Some larger cinemas might have nachos but that’s it.

  8. I prefer not to eat or drink anything, coz I don’t wanna use toilet during movie.

But usually popcorn(salty), nachos and coke. That melted cheese you guys got on Nachos is not a thing here.

  9. Popcorn is the default option in German – but almost always sweet popcorn. I wasn’t even aware that salty popcorn existed until my early 20s.

  10. You usually sneak in your own food unless you’re Warren Buffet.

The stuff on sale is usually popcorn or sweets amongst some other stuff.

  11. Germany, I’d guess in the following order
    – sweet popcorn
    – nachos
    – ice cream
    – salted popcorn
    – other sweets such as haribo

  12. None. Other people who eat annoy me because of the smacking.

Most cinemas offer a variety of snacks one can buy. As a kid I used to like something called just ”snacks”. They came warm and bacon-flavored. My impression was they’re American.

  13. Bacon snacks, popcorn or candy.

Personally I don’t really care about the snacks, it’s the carbonated slushy that I love the most. Stores will usually only have non carbonated slushy if anything but there’s a movie theater near me with carbonated slushy so it has become a cinema treat for me.

  14. Popcorn is not American. It’s worldwide. The difference is, I buy popcorn in the store for 1/5 of the price and sneak them into the cinema. Fuck your 6€ small bag of popcorn. Go rob someone else.

  15. In Spain the traditional cinema food was just salted popcorn. Lately big cinemas have gone the American way and offer all kinds of junk food which I find kind of disgusting and think it completely ruins the film experience with smells and noises.

  16. When I go to a multiplex, I usually buy popcorn or chips, which are sold at the entrance, in conventional cinemas, on the other hand, no food is sold, and I don’t even know if it is possible to bring food into the theatre.

  17. You can buy candies, popcorn, nachos and even basic chips.

When I go, usually with my girlfriend, I buy a medium size popcorn, add some flavourings, like cheddar cheese powder and get a large drink to share.

Alcohol free beer is also available.
