Trying to think of somewhere central UK and from the times I’ve been:
– has a good bar scene, making an excellent pub crawl viable
– won’t be absolutely rammed everywhere
– tolerant of student-esque antics and fancy dress
– easy access to the country for some daytime/activities
– couple of cheap travelodges in town
– easy access from north/west/east/south where everyone is coming from
But It never comes up on the suggestions of websites and searching the sub no ones asked about it here either.
Am I missing something?

It was probably 5/6 years ago but I went on a stag do in Oxford. Remember it being a pretty good/stereotypical stag weekend.
I once did a squirrel in Ely.
Go for it. I live in Oxford and work in hospitality – I’ve seen hundreds of stag parties here.
Great location. The punting alone would be worth it as a daytime event, drinking is practically obligatory and falling in the river is about 50% odds 😊
