It exists, it’s just not relevant for virginity, and how the hymen is (or rather was) will be different from person to person. For example it’s an medical issue if it’s completely closed off without an opening so menstruation can’t come out through it, while others might barely have had any hymen at all.
Something like riding a horse can be how someone broke their hymen.
I definitely had a hymen….I could feel a difference before and after breaking it…
